Artist's Description

A river or stream flowing down from the mountains and running through a forest in the Canadian Rockies (Kootenay National Park). This gripping image shows the aftermath of a forest fire, which is a natural and necessary part of the ecosystem. It clears thick growth so sunlight can reach the forest floor and encourage new vegetation.

The striking contrast of a few charred trees in the foreground and a young forest in the background illustrates the natural cycle of tree growth and replenishment. This shot captures the raw beauty of nature and looks best in black and white.

About Pak Hong

Pak Hong

I am a landscape photographer from Canada and I work primarily in black & white. Sometimes I would crossover to street photography. My fine arts are geared towards hanging in nice homes, offices, galleries, hotels, lobbies, etc. If you see a photo you particularly love, then please consider purchasing a print and add a meaningful gallery photo to your wall. Only 50 copies of each image will be produced to maintain value and originality to the pieces.
