As the Siq becomes narrower and darker in the last few metres, the Al-Khazneh (a.k.a. The Treasury) suddenly lights up at the end of the gorge. Petra's most elaborate and well-preserved ruin is carved out of the sandstone cliff face. My monochrome interpretation of this iconic facade is unique and unlike many other rose-red-coloured variations which you can find all over the internet. And, most importantly, there are no random tourists blocking the view! The perfect lighting brings out details of great craftsmanship and textures of the rock surface. A wonderful creation by man and nature, preserved in this timeless image.
